FBI says cybercrime complaints more than doubled in 14 months



The FBI’s Web Crime Grievance Heart (IC3) has seen a large 100% in cybercrime complaints over the previous 14 months.

When the IC3 first started logging complaints in 2000, it took seven years to succeed in 1 million complaints. Since then, it has taken a median of 29.5 months for every further million complaints.

For the interval between March 2020 and Could 2021, the IC3 noticed a large improve of 1 million complaints in simply 14 months.

The FBI attributes the rise in complaints to cyber criminals benefiting from folks working from dwelling as a result of pandemic and the rise in COVID-19 themed assaults.
